5 Activities To Do That Don’t Involve The Gym

#Exercising in the gym isn’t for everyone! If you don’t like the gym, either because it can be expensive or a little bit daunting, it’s important not to sacrifice your overall #health and #wellbeing. Exercise is a really important part of the daily routine and can improve your mood, self-confidence and help fight fatigue.


1. Skipping


Jump roping is one of the best ways to burn calories and is less impact on your joints than jogging. Not to mention it's super affordable, all you need is a skipping rope and the space to move.





2. Cycling


Going for a bike ride is a great way to spend time outdoors and is perfect for focusing on your mind rather than the physical activity. It's also fantastic cardio!






3. Swimming


Swimming is a great workout and will really shake things up from the same-old gym routine. It increases muscle strength, improves flexibility, balance and enhances endurance.





4. Zumba


Zumba is arguably the most enjoyable form of exercise! Check online to find a local instructor. Classes are usually hosted for around an affordable £5 a lesson. Zumba is great for working out and for socialising! It increases cardio, calorie burning and is great for strengthening and toning legs and bums.





5. Exercise Games


If it's a rainy day, and none of the above tickle your fancy - substitute your workout every now and then with a video game. Working out can really quickly become boring if not varied - if you do find yourself in a rut, Nike+ have a training game for XBOX, EA Sports Active 2 for Wii or even Everybody Dance for PS3.
